AThe facility is located in Mickleham, just outside Melbourne.
Upon arrival in Melbourne, your pet will be immediately transported to the Post-Entry Quarantine Facility. Because Australia is home to many unique animal species, all animals entering from overseas must be held here for a mandatory 10-day quarantine period. During this time, your pet will be monitored closely for any signs of illness.
The facility is very large and provides individual, temperature-controlled rooms for each animal, as well as amenities like dog runs. If your pet shows a loss of appetite or any abnormal symptoms, you will be contacted right away. The staff will listen to your instructions and may also offer suggestions regarding your pet’s care.
Meals can be requested in advance, including options like chicken, fish, and other varieties, with proper accommodations for allergies.
However, if your pet remains healthy, you will not receive any updates, and visits are not allowed. Although some pet owners have requested frequent photos, the facility does not provide them.
